Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive exfoliation and skin revitalizing treatment. Using a mildly abrasive instrument, we will gently remove the top layer of skin, which is mostly dead skin cells and debris. The treatment results in a more youthful complexion. Collagen is a protein in the skin which makes the skin appear firm and smooth. Collagen production declines as we age, resulting in uneven, looser skin.
What does microdermabrasion address?
Microdermabrasion is an excellent treatment option for:
- Age spots
- Hyperpigmentation (patches of darkened skin)
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Enlarged pores
- Acne and acne scars
- Stretch marks
What does microdermabrasion entail?
We will start by cleaning your face with our signature cleansing process. As the microdermabrasion wand passes over the skin, you will feel a very mild suctioning as the impurities get vacuumed away. Several passes may be done, with more attention given to trouble areas. Extractions can be performed if necessary.
With your skin now primed to accept other treatments at a much deeper level, you can follow microdermabrasion up with another procedure or continue with product application that will absorb deeper than usual.
You can also choose to enhance your microdermabrasion with an infusion. The serum infusion portion of the treatment feels like a relaxing, focused massage. The wand travels across the face in a sweeping, linear motion while pumping the skin full of antioxidants. We finish with a light massage of anti-aging products. The facial takes approximately 45-60 minutes.
After the treatment
Your skin will feel smooth and supple for 2-3 weeks after the procedure. Patients receiving treatments for acne scars or texture issues will notice a difference immediately, especially when applying products or makeup. Depending on the sensitivity of your skin, most patients will receive a treatment every 4-6 weeks.
