A facelift, technically known as rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure to improve visible signs of aging in the face and neck. As we age, skin loses its elasticity and begins to sag in the mid and lower face. Deep creases appear between the nose and mouth, deep lines draw lip corners downward, jowls appear at the jaw line, and neck skin becomes loose and heavily creased. A facelift is designed to correct all of these aging features, restoring a more youthful appearance, uplifted facial contours, and improved facial skin tone. Your fundamental appearance is not changed but a natural, younger appearance is restored.

Cosmetic Eyelid Surgery

Cosmetic eyelid surgery, technically called blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both. Drooping eyelids, excess skin, fine wrinkles, puffiness or bags can be dramatically improved by cosmetic eyelid surgery. While this surgical procedure on its own can provide marked improvement in the overall appearance of the aging face, it is often coupled with other surgical procedures such as a facelift and/or browlift. And again, as with any cosmetic facial surgical procedure, the ideal result is a more youthful, natural appearance-never an exaggerated, drawn, theatrical-looking result.

Cosmetic Surgery of the Nose

Cosmetic surgery of the nose, technically known as rhinoplasty and informally known as a “nose job,” can shorten, tilt up, straighten or build up the most prominent feature of the human face. For those individuals of any age who find the size and/or shape of their nose to be an almost constant source of embarrassment, rhinoplasty can restore self-esteem and pride in one’s appearance and a new outlook on life. A patient’s goals and expectations are especially important when considering cosmetic surgery of the nose. The ideal nose is a natural-looking nose that is in proportion with other facial features. The part should fit the whole to achieve a harmonious balance.

Forehead Lift

A forehead lift, also known as a browlift, can minimize the visible signs of aging in the upper face-drooping eyebrows, “hooding” over the eyes, deep forehead furrows, and deep frown lines. Although often coupled with facelift surgery, men and women of any age may be good candidates for a forehead lift to correct inherited conditions such as droopy brows or deep frown lines in adults of any age.

Breast augmentation, also known technically as augmentation mammaplasty and informally as breast implant surgery or breast enlargement surgery, is a cosmetic surgical procedure that utilizes implants to enlarge and shape the breasts. Women choose this procedure to attain fuller, more shapely breasts, to bring balance to a breast that may be somewhat smaller than the other, or simply to restore their natural breast volume that may have been lost due to aging or significant weight loss. This is one of most commonly performed cosmetic surgery procedures and is expected to increase in popularity now that the FDA has again approved the use of silicone gel implants for general use. Silicone gel implants give a much more natural look and feel to the breasts. For many years, patients seeking breast augmentation were limited to saline implants; now women have a choice.

Breast Lift

A breast lift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure that raises and reshapes sagging breasts. Over time, the effects of gravity along with the loss of the skin’s natural elasticity, begins to have an effect on the appearance of a woman’s breasts. Heredity may also be a factor as well as weight loss. Good candidates for a breast lift are those women of a normal, stable weight, and fully developed. For those desiring an increase in the size or volume of their breasts in addition to repositioning and reshaping, breast lifts are often combined with augmentation surgery. In this case, implants are inserted in conjunction with the mastopexy to increase firmness and size.

Tummy tuck is a common term for the surgical procedure, technically known as abdominoplasty, which corrects a protruding or loose, sagging abdomen. Excess fat, tissue material and skin is removed and the underlying musculature is tightened to flatten and contour the abdomen. For women with stretched abdominal areas due to pregnancy, older individuals whose skin has lost its elasticity, or those at their ideal weight but with stubborn abdominal fat deposits or loose skin, a tummy tuck can reduce or even eliminate a protruding abdomen. A tummy tuck should not be viewed as a substitute for weight loss and a good exercise program, but if you are close to your ideal weight and moderately fit, a tummy tuck can help you to attain a flatter, tighter abdomen.

Liposuction

Among the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures, liposuction, also known as lipoplasty or suction lipectomy, sculpts the body by removing undesirable fat from areas of the body that are unresponsive to typical weight-loss methods. It is meant to be body sculpting, and like a tummy tuck, is not to be considered a substitute for weight loss through diet and exercise. Liposuction is often used in conjunction with other cosmetic surgical procedures such as tummy tucks or in the neck area during a facelift to remove excess pockets of fat.
