Dermal Fillers/What Do They Do?

Injectable fillers may help to plump up lips, increase volume to facial hollows and help soften facial lines and creases.

In our practice we use several dermal fillers. Hyaluronic acid fillers, a substances found naturally in the body. Examples go under the brand names such as Juvederm, Perlane and Restylane. They can be used in the lips, naso labial folds, smile lines and to soften facial wrinkles.

Another type of filler used in our practice is a calcium hydroxylapatite filler, this is a heavier filler. This filler is used to fill the deepest creases in areas as the naso labial folds. Brand name Radiesse.

The newest filler added to our practice is Sculptra. This is a synthetic polylactic acid filler. It stimulates the body’s production of collagen. This unlike other fillers works gradually; several treatments are needed to obtain the desired results. Clinical finding show the results may last two years or more.

It is important to note that there is minimal downtime with dermal fillers. You can resume regular activities almost immediately. These dermal fillers are not permanent; you may need repeated treatments to maintain that fresh youthful look. http://www.restylane … icis_aesthetics.aspx
